Sterling Cheeks, Executive Director

A young black entrepreneur Mr. Sterling Cheeks created Portable Smiles Mobile. The vision behind his company is to ensure that children K-12 receive preventative dental care regardless of their family’s economic level. Dental hygiene is important on many levels. Having good oral care provides good overall health and can boost one’s self-confidence tremendously. His company has been a major impact in the community. Reaching out to school districts, boy and girl’s clubs, daycare centers and latch key programs to name a few. Portable Mobile Smiles wants to see students succeed academically as well. The company lends support to school districts by providing financial help to various programs. The company uses state of the art equipment to provide their professional services. Every dentist and hygienist are licensed and trained to provide extensive cleaning and services. Each child receives a “goodie bag” with toothpaste and a toothbrush along with a detailed oral report card of service, and children are also taught how to properly care for their teeth. Mr. Cheeks would like to extend a special thanks to Mr. Derrick Coleman Superintendant of River Rouge school district for believing in his vision. Mr. Coleman allowed Dental Care Mobile to enter into his school district when the company initially launched. The mission is to make a positive impact on the lives of all children for generations to come and creating healthy and beautiful smiles.
